HOW IT WORKS

It looks a lot like a cylinder but it performs like a KOR-LOK®!

Alignment Coupler
The hardened Alignment Coupler threads into the back of your core slide to allow a "T" slot interface for rapid removal / installation of your KOR-LOK™ Side-Action System.

Alignment Screw
The hardened Alignment Screw is utilized to transfer force and not minor misalignment between the KOR-LOK™ Side-Action System and the core slide system. A "T" slot interface ensures a rapid removal / installation.

Piston Rod
The hardened Piston Rod takes the load on-plane to minimize wear. The engineering process involved in making the Piston Rod ensures extreme load capacity and long life!

Mounting Flange
Mounting Flanges are threaded to match the corresponding KOR-LOK™ unit. All you have to do is drill the holes for the bolts and bolt it on!

Jam Nut
The Jam nut locks your KOR-LOK™ Side-Action System in place once you have established the perfect position.

Sensors
New Relay-style Sensors register both locking action and retract position for positive control of your operation.

Locking Segments
The hardened Locking Segments force the rod forward against extreme loads to ensure flash-free parts.

Locking Slides
The hardened Locking Slide has a tapered internal diameter which increases the output force by forcing the segments into the rod groove as the Locking Slide drives into the locked position.

Threaded Nose
Threaded nose allows for precise positioning and ease of adjustment so you can fine tune your KOR-LOK™ System to produce perfect parts!

Multi Port Configuration
Multi-Port configuration means you have the convenience of 5 SAE ports to choose from (2 set and 3 pull ports). All ports are included and SAE ensure the best possible seal avialable.

KOR-LOK® Side-Action Systems provide large pre-loads and thermal compensation to core slides by use of an internal tapered locking mechanism. The threaded housing provides a base to support the locking mechanism and transfer load between the mold and the core slide, as follows:

SET
The rod is extended using extend pressure. As the rod nears end of stroke, the locking segments are forced into the rod groove by hydraulic pressure on the locking slide. As the segments are "squeezed," the rod is forced forward ensuring a positive seal on the core face, while activating the sensor.

PULL
Retract pressure releases the locking slide, allowing the segments to disengage as the piston retracts. When fully retracted, the rear sensor is activated, indicating the slide is fully retracted.

Once set using only a minimum of 1,500 psi hydraulics, KOR-LOK® Side-Action Systems provide 100% preload to rated load - 10 times more force than a standard cylinder. KOR-LOK® doesn't just lock, it "super locks" by preloading and locking in the force so hydraulics are no longer needed. The result is 100% preload to rated load at zero pressure.

*Force ratings are at end of stroke only, based on assumed mold geometry. Ratings are for reference only. Actual performance will vary with application, setup and operating pressure.
