PFA, Inc. Provides Essential Products for Part Manufacturing

PFA, Inc. Provides Essential Products for Part Manufacturing

Whether you are a multi-national stamping company or injection molder trying to improve press uptime with faster tooling changes, or an industrial manufacturer or mold builder trying to maximize part quality and productivity, finding the right equipment to enhance performance is essential.  Enhanced performance ensures more consistent results, and it also provides bottom-line benefits. In this article, we will look at some of the essential products PFA, Inc. provides to bring your performance to the next level.

KOR-LOK® Side Action Systems

Finding the optimal slide core pre-loading method for your mold is essential to ensuring high-quality finished parts, reducing or eliminating secondary operations.  In comparison to traditional cam pin and heel block methods, the KOR-LOK Side Action Systems not only provide better part quality, but also typically reduce mold base size requirements, allowing molders to run complex parts in smaller presses and lower costs. We encourage you to learn more about this flagship product at our product page link below.

Self-Locking & Breaking Cylinders

Self-Locking Cylinders and Braking Cylinders allow designers to defeat typical holding and loading barriers associated with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Repeatable precise positioning along with high force holding capability is now attainable with PFA Self-Locking Cylinders. Holding position to allow removal of air pressure or to maintain position when air pressure is unexpectedly lost is the typical use of PFA’s Braking Cylinders. Staking applications that take advantage of the large load capacity after locking are also popular.  Click the link below now to learn more, use our CAD configurator to create the desired cylinder, and download cylinder CAD files in your desired format to drop into your application today.

Hydra-Jaws® Quick Mold Change Solution

Hydra-Jaws® QMC systems are designed to clamp a variety of mold sizes into the injection molding machine and are shipped ready for easy installation.  Each system is design modified to fit customer machine specifications.  Simply bolt the QMC plates onto the machine’s platens, install manifolds, place clamps in slots, connect hoses, and you’re ready for production. After pressurizing the clamps and clamping the mold, locks are easily spun into position to maintain clamp force mechanically. Hydraulic pressure can then be removed to use on the next changeover. End-Of-Arm Robotic Systems, Grippers, and Gripper Accessories

The interface between robot arm and part is the End-Of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) needed to properly grab the part and support the demands of movement and processing.  Challenges can arise due to interference and tooling encountering unexpected obstacles, complex insertion forces that tend do jam the part, demanding gripper clamp requirements, and part contact slippage between clamp tooling and part.   PFA’s creative solution to protecting EOAT from impact is the Collision protection overload protection device (OPD).  Remote Center Compliance Devices (RCCs) reduce jamming forces to allow non-aligned parts to more easily assemble and are especially helpful for delicate part insertions.  Grippers are focused on high force to weight ratios, while Rubber Gripper pads with Aluminum or Steel plate backing are popular for replaceable finger tooling that adds a soft touch or added grip to many applications.   To learn more about how our robotic automation solutions allow you to really “Grip It”, click the link below to visit our automation product page today.
